Sample humidity is a critical parameter for ensuring reliable gas analysis measurements. When the sample has a lower moisture content than the conditions under which the analyzer was calibrated, systematic errors, measurement instability, and variations in analyzer response may occur.

Altair OSM Kit Wet is the system developed by TCR Tecora® for controlling and stabilizing the humidity of the gas sample prior to analysis. Thanks to Nafion™ membrane technology, the system increases the water vapor content in a controlled manner without altering the chemical composition of the gas, ensuring stable operating conditions and greater measurement reliability.

At the core of Altair OSM Kit Wet is the Nafion™ MH-110 membrane, a technology designed to selectively transfer only water vapor through a highly selective polymer membrane without altering the composition of the gas sample.

The absence of direct contact between the liquid and the gas eliminates the risk of contamination, while the self-regulating design, with no moving parts, ensures high reliability, excellent corrosion resistance, and virtually maintenance-free operation.

Using deionized water as the humidification source, the system can achieve relative humidity levels of up to 98%, providing effective and stable sample conditioning.

Installed directly on the sampling line, Altair OSM Kit Wet maintains the desired relative humidity level through an active humidification process and continuous monitoring of temperature and humidity.

Humidity: A Critical Measurement Variable

Analyzer calibration curves are generally generated using dry gases, while real samples are characterized by variable thermohygrometric conditions. This difference introduces a matrix effect, resulting in a systematic deviation between calibration conditions and actual operating conditions.

An excessively dry sample can cause:

  • INSTRUMENT RESPONSE DRIFT
    AND LONGER STABILIZATION TIMES;

  • SIGNAL OSCILLATIONS
    AND LOSS OF MEASUREMENT ACCURACY;
